Our extensive range is still growing, and we are excited about the wonderful choice that we have currently, and coming in the future. As Professional Machine Quilters, we observed for many years a lack of availability of good wide backings. We decided to change that and make a Really Good Shop happen. We have made it happen and hundreds of delighted quilters have found Widebacks is the answer for them.
Backings are what we are passionate about. We stock the latest releases in wide fabrics as they become available to the world market, and at Widebacks we have the largest choice of wide fabrics available in Australia. Widebacks customers have multiples of suitable choices for every quilt top. Whenever you need backing, you need only remember one word - WIDEBACKS!
Our Widebacks include well known names such as Moda, Benartex, RJR, P&B, South Sea Imports, and Marcus Fabrics. We only sell top quality fabric and feel confident that you will be delighted with the look and feel of these Widebacks. They will certainly enhance your quilts and add value to your quilts also. We carry all colours from White on White to Jet Black, with every colour in between, including a selection of
Batiks. They are all 100% cotton. We also have a range of 108" wide
Flannel in solid colours. We have

New! We've expanded our range of Widebacks to include a selection of narrower Widebacks. Look under the 54" - 60" Widebacks section while online shopping or browsing. Some are particularly suitable for childrens quilts as they are nursery prints. And of course Nursery quilts don't need a 108" wide backing! Also in this section are a range of
Reproduction Vintage Florals, some in
Bark Cloth. Not only suitable for quilts, these would be fabulous made into bags, or dressing vintage dolls or other craft applications.

Bolt Ends. These range from 3 metres down to 20cm. All are 108 "wide. These pieces are the ends of bolts, and are discounted by 15%. I can generally fit around 6 metres into a 3 kg express bag. These may be discontinued ranges, or just bolt ends of current stock. Worth keeping an eye on.

In the Pipeline'. These are Widebacks that we've ordered. When you purchase Jelly Rolls, Layer Cakes or Fat Quarter Bundles, or meterage, just check what's 'In The Pipeline' to see if you can get a matching or coordinating backing.

An alternate method is for you to check your local Professional Machine Quilter. (see under Quilting Services) Each listed business has a sample folder of Widebacks fabrics which you may view. As you drop off your quilt for Professional quilting, your quilter can assist you by purchasing Widebacks on your behalf, after you've selected by matching your quilt to their samples.
